Interim Lean Consultant

Free up capacity and reduce production costs

When order books are full but bottlenecks, long changeover times, and waste are eating into margins, practical improvements are needed—not more presentations. An interim lean consultant steps in at a few days’ notice, maps value streams, and guides operators and managers through concrete kaizen activities that deliver visible results as early as the first month. The assignment is goal-oriented and time-bound: the consultant assesses the current state, prioritizes actions based on ROI, and leaves behind tools, procedures, and a committed organization that continues to drive improvements without external assistance.

On-site interim lean consultant—no hassle

Accurate matching

After a brief discussion about OEE, scrap rates, lead times, and technology infrastructure, we develop a requirements profile that covers both skills and cultural fit. We filter approximately 8,000 interim consultants based on industry experience, Six Sigma certification, and proficiency in SAP, M3, and MES. Within five business days, we present 3 to 4 candidates. References are already in place, so your interviews can focus on the mandate, team chemistry, and approach.

The 80/20 rule

You’ll see the full cost breakdown before making a decision. 80% goes to the consultant and 20% to us. No setup fee, no performance-based fees, and no minimum contract term if your needs change. All savings stay with you.

Net book value

A dedicated consultant oversees the project from requirements definition through to handover. The consultant implements visual management, standardized work instructions, daily stand-up meetings, and an internal Lean council that drives the PDCA cycle. Documentation, competency maps, and digital KPI dashboards are delivered in a ready-to-use format.

Why choose us?

When companies grow rapidly, leadership needs can change overnight. An interim manager is a flexible solution that ensures operations continue to run smoothly, regardless of the challenges.

Hire an interim consultant

When there is an urgent need for a project or a permanent position, an interim consultant can fill a critical gap.

Lower cost per unit with an interim lean consultant

Immediate increase in capacity without investment

Value stream mapping, takt time balancing, SMED, and 5S reduce changeover times and micro-stops. Buffer time is reduced and output increases without the need for new machinery. In three-shift environments, these initiatives have often freed up 8 to 10% of capacity within 60 days.

Cost reduction and capital release

Waste in inventory, transportation, energy, and rework is identified and addressed using kanban, supermarkets, and pull systems. Work in progress (WIP), scrap, and overproduction are reduced. Typical projects lower unit manufacturing costs by 15 to 20% in the first six months and free up working capital.

Improved safety and engagement

Standardized work procedures and visual aids reduce sources of error and ergonomic risks. Operators are trained in 8D, FMEA, and root cause analysis, and lead their own kaizen events. The result is fewer incidents and a work environment where improvements are driven by the teams.

The recruitment process

Our recruitment process is fast, streamlined, and tailored to your needs. We ensure you find the right candidate quickly through a clear job description and an efficient screening process.

1. Scope of Work & Objectives

We listen carefully to your expectations, goals, and current situation. A job description or job posting can serve as a basis, and we conduct a structured interview with the client.

2. Search for candidates in the network

We select and contact approximately 20 suitable candidates. We conduct interviews with the relevant and available consultants we identify, based on the job description.

3. Quality Assurance

The top 3–4 candidates are presented to the client within 1–3 days. A follow-up meeting with the client is held to finalize the selection and plan the next steps.

4. Customer Interview – Background Check

The client conducts interviews, any tests they may require, and interviews with the candidate’s grandparents. References are checked as needed, and a background check may be conducted on the final candidate.

5. Contract

We draw up a contract specifying the duration and scope of the assignment, always with a transparent pricing structure so that both the client and the consultant know how the fee is allocated. We always pay 80% of the fee to the consultant. If the client is dissatisfied, the contract can be terminated with a maximum of one month’s notice.

6. Assignments are carried out

Throughout the project, we maintain regular contact with both the client and the consultant to address any questions or gather feedback necessary for a successful collaboration.

7. Conclusion – Potential Employment

The assignment is concluded as specified in the agreement; however, if the assignment was intended to lead to employment and both parties agree, it will result in a hiring. The recruitment fee decreases the longer the assignment has lasted.

Interim lean consultant with the right qualities

In-depth methodological expertise and hands-on workshop experience

The consultant is proficient in VSM, SMED, heijunka, takt time balancing, TPM, the 5 Whys, and Six Sigma tools; has led end-to-end system implementations in both high-volume and high-mix environments; and can quantify the impact in financial terms.

Communicative leadership close to the front lines

Workshops are held where value is created. Operators’ ideas are incorporated and put into practice, and the link between goals and change is made clear to every shift.

Results-oriented and adaptable

Measures that yield quick results are prioritized, and the plan is adjusted as conditions change. Results are displayed in real-time dashboards linked to profit margins, delivery accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
